N2  - The article interprets the novel Gwiazda Piołun by Władysław Lech Terlecki. Its main character is based on the real life figure of Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz - author, painter, philosopher. The author of the article indicates the relationships between the accounts of Witkacy's death and its fictional version.
