N2  - This paper presents a system incorporated in a vehicle designed to detect and classify horizontal traffic signs. The authors note that their prototype is based on infrared technology and a classification tool based on a neuro-fuzzy system. The authors report on several trials that have been conducted on experimental data provided by the prototype. The obtained results are discussed and the authors focus on the design of new rules and the improvement in these rules obtained automatically by the proposed methods.
