N2 - BACKGROUND: For the WHO, depression is considered the fourth leading cause of morbidity and suicide, the third leading cause of death worldwide in people aged 15 to 34 years. Currently, there are no psychoeducational programs in university students are oriented to mitigate the risk factors of loneliness, existential anguish in this population. The sense of life is positively associated with resilience and psychological well-being. The search for meaning is a noogenic expression of the human being as transcendence in the face of limiting conditions.
OBJECTIVE: To describe the sense of life and the noological resources in university students and to identify the relationship between the two variables for the design of a psychoeducational intervention program in the university population.
METHODS: Non-experimental descriptive correlational research, with a cross-sectional design that correlates the variables sense of life and noological resources. The sample was of 214 students between 15-45 years of a university in Colombia. Dimensional scales of sense of life and noological resources were used.
RESULTS: A statistically significant association between noological ship resources and the sense of life was identified. The scale of the sense of life revealed statistically significant differences in relation to the career with the highest average score in Psychology and lowest in Administration. Compared to the noological resources, there were significant differences in the categories: impotence-noetic power with a higher score in ages 26-45 years and lowr between 16-25 years, in the attachment categories-distance from self and immanence-transcendence. A direct relationship was found between the meaning of life and the main spiritual factors of the personality or noological resources.
CONCLUSION: The noological resources are a predictor of the sense of life, so it is proposed to consider them as a psychoeducational tool for the development of the. © 2020, Venezuelan Society of Pharmacology and Clinical and Therapeutic Pharmacology. All rights reserved.
