The US Food and Drug Administration has issued a black box warning concerning the increased risks of suicidal ideation and behavior associated with antidepressant treatment in children and adolescents. The aim of this review is to assess the risks and benefits of antidepressants in the treatment of child and adolescent psychiatric disorders.
