N2  - The Authors describe a deep coma following a suicide with 8 gr of Carbamazepine (CBZ) in in 45 year old patient taking this drug for epilepsia. The authors performed two session three hours long every 12 hours of hemoperfusion (HP) to increase the escretion of this drug. At the beginning CBZ plasmatic concentration was 48,9 μgr/ml (therapeutic range 4-12 μgr/ml). After the first session, the plasmatic concentration of CBZ was 30,6 μgr/ml, after the second session was 5,2 μgr/ml. The coma improved atfer the first session of EP with a partial breathing recovery. The patient recovered completely the breathing and his consciousness status after 24 hours. Although in this case report, a deep coma due to intoxication with CBZ, has been resolved with HP, further studies are necessary to confirm the efficacy of CBZ.<p /> <p>Language: it</p>
