SP - 56 EP - 57 VL - 45 IS - 1 N2 - Neem oil is used for preparing cosmetics (soap, hair products, body hygiene creams, hand creams) and in folk or traditional medicine, in the treatment of a wide range of afflictions. The most common use, however, is as an agricultural or household pesticide.

We report a case of neem oil poisoning in a previously normal 5 year old child. The child presented with refractory seizures and was having metabolic acidosis. Late neurological sequelae in the form of auditory and visual disturbances, and ataxia were present.
