SP - 258 EP - 287 VL - 25 IS - 1 N2 - This article presents a literature review on externalized and internalized disorders in children who are witness to conjugal violence as well as the major variables associated with the development of these disorders. Among these variables, there are age and gender of the child, the type of violence they witness, maternal stress, educational skills of parents as well as physical and sexual abuse. The limits of major studies published over the last two decades are also exposed. Finally, new avenues of research that might shed new light on a more recent knowledge of the issue, are proposed.
