N2  - The violence angainst persons in France are various, from those inflicted by society against human groups or individuals, from those, almost unrecognizable, occuring inside the families. It is an important public health problem and need population-based surveys to evaluate and to prevent it. The numerous publications about violence, and particularly about violence against women which have been recently published reflect the actual awareness.
