TY - JOUR PY - 1984// TI - Motor vehicle-related mortality and economic development, Part II: intra- and inter-regional variations JO - American Association for Automotive Medicine quarterly jurnal A1 - Wintemute, Garen J. SP - 27 EP - 28 VL - 6 IS - 2 N2 - Part I of this paper presented an overall view of the relationship between motor vehicle-related mortality rates and socioeconomic development, as measured by commonly available indices (1) (WIN). Correlations between the two were either surprisingly weak or nonexistent, although a strong relationship was found between per capita gross national product (GNP) and the reported percentage of all injury deaths which were attributable to motor vehicles. This paper extends those findings by presenting a detailed analysis of the Americas, and a comparison between the Americas and Asia.
