When, and if, these vehicles are marketed, they then present a safety hazard to their owner/drivers and to all those individuals who interact with these vehicles--e.g., passengers, pedestrians, etc. It thus becomes important for the manufacturer to either: (a) detect and correct built-in defects before the defective vehicles are marketed through distributors and dealers and are then sold to the general public or (b) to arrange for newly-sold vehicles, once a defect is detected, to be quickly removed from the public roadways so that the defect may be corrected.
