N2  - A new chemical strengthening process makes automobile safety glass available at one-third the normal thickness. The reduced thickness increases deflection on impact and reduces initial impact forces. Fracture produces lighter particles with little, if any, ability to lacerate. It seems reasonable to expect that the thin-strong glass will be advantageous in windshields.<p />
