Their changing ethnic composition reflects the ethnic shifts in the urban lower socioeconomic levels. Fighting is an important road to increased social status, and successful boxers are role-models of the youth. Trainers, managers, and promoters view boxing in different ways from the boxers and frequently affect boxer's careers.
