TY - JOUR PY - 1997// TI - An empirical examination of Thomas Masaryk's theory of suicide JO - Archives of suicide research A1 - Lester, David SP - 125 EP - 131,133 VL - 3 IS - 2 N2 - The theory of suicide proposed by Thomas Masaryk in 1881 was reviewed and two predictions derived from the theory: namely that suicide rates should increase with decreasing religiosity and increasing modernization. Both predictions were supported.
