Abstract

This presentation discusses, from the air traffic controller's perspective, the following topics: getting pilot weather feedback through the system; handling traffic in bad weather; and the unique safety concerns controllers face with volume and complexity. Weather feedback is simply a matter of receiving and announcing weather advisories to whomever the controller happens to be advising. The last two topics are more difficult and involve increased communication and coordination as the weather gets worse and things get busier.
