Abstract

"The California Public Opinion Scale (Form 60A) was given to students in introductory psychology courses at the University of California and at a private university located in a sourthern city (Southwest City). The Southwest City sample showed significantly higher acceptance of items on both the E (Ethnocentrism) and F (Authoritarianism) scales indicating greater prejudice toward minority groups and greater acceptance of authoritarian ideology." Differential exposure to ideological stimulation is invoked as a partial explanation of the results. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2006 APA, all rights reserved)
