Abstract

This article deals with controlled unbalanced traffic flow and the special problems presented by three-or-four lane streets. The growth of cities and basic changes in the methods of transportation have made many of these streets quite unable to accommodate the high volumes of modern traffic. Some of the tools discussed to ease the problems of excess volume of traffic on city streets include: one-way streets, reversible one-way streets, parking controls, traffic signals, and unbalanced traffic flow.
