Abstract

As a disease and like other causes of fatality, road accidents are accurately studied by the WorldHealth Organization. Each year comprehensive information and reports are presented concerning the impacts and side effects, and in general the burden of damages and fatality, resulting from road accidents. In this study we will search this body of information in order to determine the burden of fatalities resulting from road accidents in comparison to other diseases and fatality causes. Here a Burden of Road Fatalities Factor will be introduced and then used to compare the probability of death due to road accidents with the same index for other fatality causes. This coefficient expresses the share and fatality burden of road accidents for each age group x to x+n; the bigness of this coefficient in a given age category will indicate that share of accidents is larger in that age category as compared to other fatality causes. This coefficient is calculated from the ratio of the probability of death due to all diseases, including road accidents, to the probability of death due to all diseases, excluding road accidents.
