Abstract

The Danish alcohol policy is not as restrictive as in Sweden and Norway but based on information and taxes. The taxes on alcohol have now been reduced as a consequence of the establishment of the inner market in EEC. The expected higher consumption of alcohol will most likely increase the already high cost of health care and social welfare.
