Abstract

Results of fire experiments are reviewed and the major relationships for exposure from a fully developed fire, both inside and outside a building, are described. These include the effects of ventilation, heat transfer and heat balance on fire duration and temperature, radiation to nearby buildings and trajectory of the external flames. Developments in fire grading are reviewed.
