Abstract

This piece uses resource dependence theory to analyze an NGO (non-governmental organization) network, the "Network for Combating Domestic Violence of China Law Society" (NCDVCLS), an organizational network formed by specialists, social elites, GONGOs (government-operated NGOs), grassroots NGOs, and other participants. It identifies the matching of resources among members to be the core factor of success in its formation. The piece further posits that, within the interconnections of the network, members controlling key resources occupy the dominant positions and control the direction of the relationship.
