Abstract

When assessed for flame inhibiting performance using a standard technique and a single fuel (n-hexane) the two "fluorocarbons" R (or P)11 and R(or P)12 are generally less effective than the Halons 1011, 1211, 2402 and 1301, by a factor of at least two. The performance of the "fluorocarbons" is similar to that of carbon dioxide and nitrogen.
