Abstract

In China, forests are a very rare natural resource. Forest fires happen frequently and the loss is very serious each year. In this paper, statistical data on forest fires in China are analyzed in order to reveal new features regarding the forest fire safety situation as the economy of China is growing. The causes of forest fires in China are also discussed. The classifications of forest fire hazard used to improve forest fire prevention and management in China are reviewed, and the current status of the fire researches in China is introduced.
