Abstract

Though the development of non-lethal law enforcement technologies has improved the capacity of the police to take control of situations with fewer injuries all round, it has also created opportunities for their overuse. This paper refocuses the issue of taser use from lives saved to unnecessary force, and calls for greater attention to the latter.
