Abstract

Restrictions on the use of pistols are nothing new. The first state to pass a statute prohibiting the carrying a concealed pistols was Kentucky in 1813. Though Indiana followed in 1820 and Arkansas and Georgia in 1837, such statutes did not become, until after the passage of the New York Sullivan law in 1911.
