Abstract

In the present paper, the authors discussed four points concerning concepts of safety and reassurance. Firstly, the usages of safety and reassurance by exploring within the contexts of newspapers were examined. Secondly, experts' definitions of the two concepts were examined, being referred to the safety standards of various areas. Thirdly, the authors insisted that safety could be achieved by improvement in technology, whereas reassurance could be achieved by taking psychological factors into account Lastly, the authors proposed that dichotomy of safety and reassurance as well, being informed reassurance as desirable, and also discussed the ways of achieving it.
