Abstract

The evaluation of 100 line-path experiments showed almost without exception (95% of the tests) a reduction of performance at low alcoholisation levels (0.2(per mille) to 1.5(per mille)). Errors increased threefold under the influence of alcohol in comparison with the sober condition because of an increase in risks taken. The test has proved itself in the public service as a simple and reliable aid in the objective assessment of the alcohol dependent reduction in performance.
