Abstract

When a vehicle's environment increases a driver's level of stress, anxiety, or hostility, the individual may use their vehicle in an aggressive fashion that places lives in danger and society at risk. When a vehicle has such an affect on an individual, he or she may be suffering from Road Rage Disorder. By carefully examining what Road Rage Disorder is, its symptoms, and how it can be controlled or cured, this article will reveal that what many experience when entering into their vehicle is a psychological disorder that should be recognized in the American Psychiatric Association's Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders.
