Abstract

The quantity of alcohol evaporation from pools of blood has been investigated under different conditions. The evaporation depends mainly on temperature, circulation of air and thickness of pools, but is independent of the pool-surface. An evaporation of 50% of the alcohol concentration occurred generally within 1-2 hours. A total alcohol evaporation could be observed after 4 hours even from samples with high initial concentrations.
