Abstract

Precision and range of the 2-Column-Headspace-GC-Analysis-Method for blood alcohol determination was studied by statistical evaluation of 200 blood sera with known alcohol concentration and 104 samples of cadaver blood. As it is shown by the evaluation of the sera, the analysis values of both columns coincide well. Despite the low sample volume and the increase to three single samples, the variance is not greater than the variance of the usual headspace analysis. The variance of the cadaver blood values are increased by three- to fourfold as compared with serum values.
