Abstract

The current paper provides an empirical literature review of protective factors for children and adolescents exposed to intimate partner violence (IPV). Twenty-one empirical studies were reviewed for the empirical review. A critique of methodology used in the studies is presented. The role of race, age, and gender on protective factors is explored. Finally, implications for future social work practice, policy, and research with children and adolescents exposed to IPV are addressed.
