Abstract

Predictions of upper layer temperature and elevation made using the computer fire model ASET-B were compared to data from two full-scale test series. Although measurements of the upper layer temperature varied with elevation within the layer, ASET-B predictions agreed reasonably well with average smoke layer temperatures or temperatures measured at intermediate elevations within the smoke layer. ASET-B tended to underpredict layer temperatures measured at the top of the layer. ASET-B predictions were within 20% of measurements of the smoke layer elevation.
