Abstract

An essay is presented on various types of human trafficking in Europe, with a particular focus on the United Kingdom, and discusses the effectiveness of laws and statutes in combating trafficking and protecting victims. It discusses several cases in European Court of Human Rights, including the landmark Rantsev v. Cyprus and Russia. It also examines the European Union (EU) Directive on Combating Trafficking in Europe and member state compliance with the directive.
