Abstract

This article explores how 'safety' and 'safe space,' as a somatic, psychic or affective freedom from harm and a kind of experiential 'health,' is constructed in transgendered, transsexual and gender non-conforming (henceforth 'trans') persons in community produced maps of Washington, DC as a 'trans city.'
