Abstract

Troubled families are not always obviously troubled; indeed, keeping trouble secret is part and parcel of our cultural attitudes and one barrier to group counseling. Marriage Growth Group recognizes the bias for privacy yet uses the group to encourage sharing. The structured techniques offered are those that have been tried with reported success. Other issues, however, are articulated, and the need for research is shown
