Abstract

This article summarizes the findings of a randomized controlled trial conducted among workers in stone quarries in Vellore City, Tamil Nadu, India, with the aim to assess the effectiveness of an enhanced educational strategy to encourage sustained compliance with the use of protective eyewear and whether this would reduce the incidence of eye injuries at 3 months and 6 months.

RESULTS indicate the positive impact of an enhanced educational strategy on protective eyewear compliance and eye injury incidence among quarry workers.
