Abstract

The Internet has changed the way much of the world communicates. Near-instantaneous global interaction and a planet-sized information database have allowed the Internet to penetrate areas where textbooks, journals and conferences cannot. This essay describes the genesis and evolution of trauma on the Internet, discusses how the Internet may impact on global trauma care and identifies some future applications of the medium.
