Abstract

Laboratory-scale experiments were conducted in an attempt to improve a noncorrosive sodium fire extinguishing agent consisting mainly of sodium carbonate. The experimental apparatus consisted of a stainless steel cylinder (4. 5 cm in diam and 6. 0 cm high) with a flange at half height, a cylindrical electric furnace, and a temperature controlling system.
