Abstract

This paper reports a preliminary investigation into the feasibility of determining fire causes by analysis of the tensile properties of metals. The object of the paper is to determine if the tensile properties of copper wiring vary significantly with the temperature to which the wiring is subjected in a manner that would allow the investigator to predict the temperature.
