Abstract

A full-scale fire research program was carried out in the Henry Grady Hotel, Atlanta, Ga. Areas of interest focused in the tests were evaluation of the effectiveness of various mechanical pressurization schemes in keeping the exit stairwell and elevator shaft free of smoke, and determination of changes in temperatures and atmospheric compositions in various parts of the building during actual fires.
