Abstract

We thank the reader for the interest in our observations and for the opportunity to respond to the letter.1

Our study2 has to be understood as a pilot study. It was undertaken within the context of the introduction and validation of a new technology for noninvasive intracranial pressure (ICP) measurement in patients suspected of intracranial hypertension after traumatic brain injury (TBI) or intracranial hemorrhage, including subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH).

The study included the results of ICP measurements in a cohort of 11 out of 29 patients who qualified for final analysis. Eleven patients had to be excluded due to orbital or eyelid trauma, headframe mismatch, unrelated death, or systemic complications during ICU treatment prior to measurement...
