Abstract

The experiences of carers and families of children with suspected shaken baby syndrome change throughout the care process. Elsa Girerd-Potin, a paediatric intensive care nurse for the past seven years at the Couple and Child Hospital in La Tronche, Isère, has followed some of these families. She explains to us how the stay in the intensive care unit of infants suffering from shaken baby syndrome unfolds, while sharing the difficulties of positioning that she may experience with their parents.

z Le vécu des soignants et des familles d'enfants pour lesquels est suspecté un syndrome du bébé secoué évolue tout au long du parcours de soins z Elsa Girerd-Potin, puéricultrice en réanimation pédiatrique depuis sept ans à l'Hôpital Couple Enfant de La Tronche, dans l'Isère, a suivi quelques-unes de ces familles z Elle nous explique la manière dont se déroule le séjour en réanimation des nourrissons victimes du syndrome du bébé secoué tout en faisant part des difficultés de positionnement qu'elle peut éprouver face à leurs parents.
