Abstract

Elevator-door safety are now relying increasingly on infrared light-curtain detectors to safeguard passengers as they pass in and out of elevators. Different products offer different density levels of beams as convergence occurs and this is dependent on a combination of the number and pitch of the light emitting diodes (LEDs) and the sophistication of the operating software. Memco Ltd develops products to protect against elevator doors. One of its most important offerings are the Panachrome range which is available in all the normal two-dimensional and three-dimensional (3D) alternatives, but with one important difference - the range features red on green LEDs to indicate if it is safe to enter the elevator.
