Abstract

This paper attempts to review, organize, and evaluate the many theories that have been developed to explain the roots of antisocial behavior from a psychological perspective. Four gen eral categories are suggested--biopsychological theories, develop mental theories, psychodynamic theories, and social psychologi cal theories. Common elements in the theories are extracted and suggestions are made for future research.
