Abstract

The theory of restrictive ambience deals with the attractive capacity of urban spaces to perpetuate the criminal, making him a slave and master at the same time, with hypotheses based on the risk-reward ratio. In Violence and Urban Vulnerabilities: Theory of Restrictive Ambience, the restrictive ambience index (IAR) and the violence index (IV) were created through principal component analysis. Exploratory spatial data analysis was used to discover patterns of association (clusters) in the city of Fortaleza, Ceará, as well as spatial regression models. It was found that territories and their levels of violence correlate with vulnerable areas, explaining the spatial inertia of violence in space and time.

A teoria da ambiência restritiva versa sobre a capacidade atrativa de espaços urbanos em perpetuar o criminoso, tornando-o escravo e senhor ao mesmo tempo, com hipóteses alicerçadas na relação risco-recompensa. Foram criados os índices de ambiência restritiva (IAR) e de violência (IV) por meio da análise de componentes principais. Usou-se a análise exploratória de dados espaciais e modelos de regressão espacial para descobrir padrões de associação (clusters) em Fortaleza, Ceará. Constatou-se que territórios e níveis de violência se relacionam com áreas vulneráveis, explicando a inércia espacial da violência no espaço e no tempo.
