Abstract

This study focuses on information contents to assist drivers in a transition from automated driving to manual driving in a non-emergency situation. In this study, the transition consisted of the combination of LKA (Lane Keeping Assist) and ACC (Adaptive Cruise Control) function with the time difference between them. In the experiments using a motion-based driving simulator, various information contents were designed and characterized based on the time period between LKA and ACC function deactivation. It is discussed how the contents influence on the driving performance and visual behavior in manual driving just after deactivating ACC function.
