Abstract

Inner wheel lifting phenomenon of tilting type Personal Mobility Vehicle (PMV) with active tilting system by quick steering input were investigated using front wheel steering PMV dynamic simulation model. Normalized roll dynamics dominate wheel lifting phenomenon. Large effects of roll inertia moment of sprung mass (Ixx*) and roll stiffness (Kφ) were shown. Steering input frequency ( f ) and active tilting PID control gain ( I ) also effect on wheel lifting phenomenon directly. Requirements to avoid wheel lifting phenomenon under practical use conditions were also considered.
