Abstract

The automated steering control system based on the expert driver's behavior is being developed for smooth and passenger-friendly automated driving system. In this study, a steering control model for cornering is proposed to restage the feature of acceleration change during cornering, which was observed in the driving test data by expert driver. It was confirmed by full-vehicle simulation that the developed model can control the vehicle on a single cornering course with changing the relation between acceleration and jerk and the lateral deviation from target path is less than 0.75 m, even though the vehicle speed is changed during cornering by G-Vectoring Control.
