Abstract

In recent years, many Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, or ADAS have been put on the market and automated driving technologies are developed. Many of them utilize laser scanner. Although laser scanner has the advantage of high resolution, its performance will not be certified in adverse weather conditions. In this study, a four layer laser scanner is employed to detect roadside structure. From the reflection data, location of snow-covered road edge is estimated.
