Abstract

This paper aimed to model the driver's risk avoidance behavior in a crossing pedestrian scenario during the normal driving on the test track. We investigated the driver's avoidance maneuver and his judgment whether he avoid / not avoid the pedestrian from the post experiment interview. As a result, we found that the driver's risk avoidance behavior can be explained by the time to the conflict point of the driver (TTC) and that of the pedestrian (TTV).
