Abstract

With the progress of sensors in terms of downsizing, accuracy, durability, and so on, measurement technology of characteristics of dynamic tire contact patch behavior has been developed in many ways. Understandings of those tire characteristics would be essential for those of vehicle behavior; however, detailed, accurate and reproducible contact force distribution measurement technology under severe rolling conditions could not be seen. Therefore, dynamic tire contact patch measurement and visualization system has been developed. Application of the measurement system for the development of the latest eco-tire is presented in this paper.
